Officials voice their position! TNRCC do not appeal!! The TNRCC has the right to appeal Judge McCown's ruling. They have until April 14, 2002 to appeal the ruling and place the status of permit 1410-C in limbo. If they choose not to appeal then on April 14, 2002 Judge McCown's ruling takes effect and 1410-C is no longer in effect and permit 1410-B governs the use and limits of the Tessman Road Landfill. We all know there is a lot riding on this ruling and the appeal. BFI does not want to be limited in their operation of the landfill. If 1410-B is re-instated there will be limits on the type of waste that can be accepted. 1410-C allowed the disposal of certain types of hazardous waste as well as the disposal of waste over areas of the landfill that have no protective liner. Make your voice heard. Call the TNRCC and urge them not to appeal. |
