TNRCC Blind?
  • How many communities need to protest before the TNRCC will heed their calls?
  • How many government leaders need to "Fight the good fight" for the people of Bexar County before the TNRCC listens?
  • How many citizens need to mobilize their community groups into actions of protest against an encroaching mountain of trash before the TNRCC wakes up?

And now comes a volley of correspondence between the TNRCC, Ciro Rodriguez, and Ruth Jones McClendon.  All the while the TNRCC still has their head in the trash.  What will it take?  Read the latest letters requesting a review of the permit approval.

First the letter from Ciro Rodriguez, dated June 11, 2001

Even after numerous rallies, 6 cities, 18 political leaders, and thousands of citizens who put their voices in protest over this expansion and still we have an agency that is blind to the people of Texas.

Each citizen of Texas needs to ask themselves, "What does it take to be heard by the TNRCC"?  Who are they looking out for?  Given the outcry of the people and actions of the TNRCC--It looks as though the only resources they are conserving are BFI's bottom line.
