Too much Trash and too little Oversight!
Update at end of page!

These exclusive photos show the vast amount of waste that gets wind blown from the BFI Tessman Road landfill.  In the three short months of 2002 there have already been two major incidents where bags of trash are strewn across the the landfill.  As seen in these exclusive photos, the trash is then picked over and devoured by countless birds and rodents.

According to the regulations governing the operation of the Tessman Road Landfill, each day the landfill should be covered with 6" of topsoil.  If BFI is complying with this regulation then where is all this trash coming from?

With all this windblown trash scattered inside and outside the permitted landfill area one has to ask where is the oversight?  The surrounding communities should not have to live with this waste in their trees, fences, and yards.

Video documenting both of these occurrences have been turned over to the TNRCC.

UPDATE!

Almost like clockwork for the third time now there is windblown landfill waste inside and outside the permitted area.  As this photo shows, on March 10, 2002 windblown waste is easily seen outside the permit area.  This is now 3 times in the first 3 months of 2002.
